vSAN 6.6.1 Support for HPE Gen9 Server Locator LEDs

When you take a look at the article below, it says "in vSAN 6.6.1 on HPE Gen9 Server with Array Controller in Pass-through mode(HBA mode), you can turn on LED in disk device".

(Article: VMware Knowledge Base)

Can I ask if there is any limited condition of Array Controller "Driver version" or "Firmware version" listed below?

Can any existing H240, for example, controller in HBA mode support this vSAN 6.6.1 Disk Locator LED?

Hello Kuhyung,

Welcome to vSAN Communities, I hope you find some good knowledge on here.

Provided the nodes have the minimum version build installed (6.0U3/6.5U1) this should function with any of the async drivers/firmware as this appears to be implemented into esxcli function itself:

"vSAN uses a utility included in the vSphere package to provide this functionality."

Hope this helps.

Hi TheBobkin,

Thanks for your reply. I also thought it would be "esxcli" itself. I can agree with your answer. Thank you very much. I will use this place well.
