Hi all,
I have HP Proliant Microserver with ESXi 6.0.0 build-2809209 and 1 month ago problem appeared.

ESXi randomly shutdown. Host(s) is correctly powered off, but I dont know reasen, why is ESXi server shutdowned..

in hostd.log I found only this:
2017-12-03T02:38:49.979Z info hostd[57A80B70] [Originator@6876 sub=Vimsvc.TaskManager opID=f333da5b user=root] Task Created : haTask-2-vim.VirtualMachine.shutdownGuest-14690

Could anybody please  help me with finding the reason (problem) why is ESXi shutdowned?

Above logs are related to VM shutdown, looks like the VM is set to startup/down with host, so whenever the host is shutdown, VM will automatically shutdown and will start along with the host.

1. can you paste the output of uptime command from ESXi host?

2. Also have you checked hardware logs to find who initiated the shutdown?

3. If the host is randomly shuts down, then it could be due to hardware issue or incompatible hardware/firmware version ?

Please provide us the complete hardware make and model details to verify in compatibility guide.

Regards,
Suresh

Thanks a lot.

Server is "old" HP Proliant Microserver NEO N40L, 2x1,5Ghz, 8GB RAM

There is running one script (watchdog)  on W2012server which is monitoring state of SMART-UPS SC420 and if it is under 65 percents the shutdown script on ESXI is triggered.

But there wasnt any power outage.

Would be this task "haTask-2-vim.VirtualMachine.shutdownGuest-14690" created by my script which is started directly on ESXI (/vmfs/volumes/596b2d9a-41fc58e4-ea95-e83935ee25f7/scripts/run-apc.sh) - it is based on vmware console command to resume all VMs that are suspended · GitHub ?
