NSX-MH vs NSX-V

Hello Everybody,

I have a project of network virtualization and I need to integrated nsx and HP switches with openflow.

According to my research I found it's only possible with nsx-mh, but I didn't find an official doc of comparison between these products

could you send me a document of difference between nsx-mh and nsx-v, please

Hi MEDK83,

Welcome to VMware Communities.

Check this below link. There is one slide on the key differences between NSX-V and NSX-MH.

Hello and thank you very much,

Can we integrated NSX-V with 3-party vendors like HP, Cisco ... with ovsdb, if yes how can we make this integration ?

because I could not find any official document talk about ovsdb/openflow in NSX-V, but I found in this blog:VMware NSX 6.2: Enterprise Automation, Security and Application Continuity - The Network Virtualizat...‌, talking about ovsdb added in NSX-V 6.2.

I searched again in Wat's new of NSX 6.2 but I didn't find this information.

Hi,

According to this thread "there is no OVSDB support in NSX for vSphere, so at the moment only way to connect 3rd party VTEPs to NSX-v VXLAN is to configure them on to same multicast group as NSX-v VTEPs to use multicast replication".Smiley Sad

Hi MEDK83

According to this thread "there is no OVSDB support in NSX for vSphere, so at the moment only way to connect 3rd party VTEPs to NSX-v VXLAN is to configure them on to same multicast group as NSX-v VTEPs to use multicast replication"

That is no longer the case.  That thread is old, and is referring to the situation before NSX 6.2 came out in September 2015.

VMware has announced End of Availability (EOA) of the NSX Multi-Hypervisor product effective 8/19/2014 The product has also reached End of General Support (EOGS) as of 10/15/2016. Customers using NSX Multi-Hypervisor are recommended to migrate to NSX-T or NSX for vSphere based on their desired feature set.
