Dell 5.5 to 6.5 Customized Image Errors in Update Manager

I've got a Dell R620 host at 5.5 Update 3b and I'm trying to use Update Manager in VCSA 6.5 Update 1c to upgrade it to ESXi 6.5 Update 1. I've tried the following images but for each of them it reboots the host then at the "About to Install" screen it keeps showing the logs in the attached screenshots then going round in a loop again to get to the same point. I then have to use recovery mode to get back to the old image before it will boot again.

Images I've tried:

VMware-VMvisor-Installer-6.5.0.update01-6765664.x86_64-DellEMC_Customized-A04

VMware-VMvisor-Installer-6.5.0.update01-6765664.x86_64-DellEMC_Customized-A02

VMware-VMvisor-Installer-6.5.0-5310538.x86_64-DellEMC_Customized-A05

Any idea what could be causing this? I can see there's an error on package compliance but it didn't fail the pre-checks in the Web Client or throw any errors there so I'm not sure how to fix it.

Hi,

On the link below, will you download the esx iso here after you have written the server's service tag?

Yes that's right. I put the service tag in there and downloaded the image VMware-VMvisor-Installer-6.5.0.update01-6765664.x86_64-DellEMC_Customized-A04. Then I uploaded it to Update Manager and made a baseline with it and remediated the host. It passes the remediation pre-checks and the task in vCenter doesn't give any errors but once the server's rebooted it gives the errors in the screenshots. I'm also raising a ticket with VMware but I thought I'd see if anyone here had seen it before.

Hi,

Do you have updates on the dell server.

Do you mean firmware updates? It's possible there are some but I did check fairly recently (a month or two ago).
