vmware fusion 10

Have to say how disappointing Fusion 10 is , have been using it since version 5 /6 , so a number of years .

Today trying to run Win 10 , been at it now for about 40 minutes , and all Im getting is a LOT of disk activity , slooooooooooooooow response to ANY mouse click ,......and STILL the disk drive is whirring away .

I know Win 10 isn''t the greatest , but it's not THAT bad surely ??

Rapidly losing the will to live .....

You've provided no information to help troubleshoot.  Let's start with the guest and host configurations and OS versions.

Thanks for the reply .

I did a quick search and discovered there are myriad things I can do to try to improve the performance .

Whether I have the fortitude to jump through al those  hoops is another question .

At the end of the day people like me who use VM's are really only side-stepping the issue .....we dont want to invest in another machine !

Just having a moan really 🙂

Sounds not a VMware Fusion issue...

To capture the culprit making the disk noisy?Smiley Wink MSFT system internals suite / process explorer and process monitor running on Windows, should do that, if Windows is the suspect. For the macOS host, there's Activity Monitor or maybe better tools.
