Script to get Orphaned VMDK files

Hi All,

There are numerous script available but none give accurate result of Orphaned VMs in infrastructure. The results include VM files from Snapshot which is highly risky removing them.

is there any one had script which gives exact Orphaned VMDK files  with its datastore and orphaned VM disk size information.

Thanks a ton in Advance.

Not sure what you mean by "highly risky"?

If a .VMX is for an unregistered VM, the eventual snapshots are part of the unregistered VM.

Or do you mean something else?

"highly risky " I mean to say that.. there are numerous script available in google and here in VMware Communities. But they give list of orphaned VMDK which includes snapshot files too.
I was looking for some script which can give exact details of  Orphaned vmdk files with its space information too.

Thanks in advance LucD.

RVtools also givens the Zombiee VM / Orphaned VM details but it is missing what is that size of the zombie / orphaned VMDK size.

is there a way around to get what size do that zombie/orphaned file exists.

Did you already look at my Orphaned Files And Folders – Spring Cleaning post?

That report includes the size of the files.
