Exporting a list for Virtual Machines

I am looking to export a .csv list of virtual machines attached to LUNS. I need to see what machine is on what LUN.

If you only need VMs vs Datastore you can create a vCenter inventory report with  RVTools

Or use PowerCLI scripting -> VMware PowerCLI

Notes:

A VM can have files on multiple datastores.

A vSphere Datastore can have multiple extents on different LUNs.

PowerCLI is an extension of Powershell.

I think Get List of VMs, Datastores and Folder name per Cluster may do what you want ?

Connect to your vcenter server with web client, then go to datastores, open datastore and go to releated objetcs tab and open virtual machines list.

Than there should be export button in the right bottom corner of the screen. This will export list of virtual machines into CSV format.

That list will not tell you what LUN connection

Actually VM can be attached to RDM only.

However this list will show all VMs related to Datastore where this list has been generated.

I don't see any problem here.
