1. Re: HTML5 client under 6.5 Update 1, how is it?
Nick_Andreev Oct 19, 2017 3:30 AM (in response to HendersonD)My personal opinion - it's a bit over-exaggerated. I use Web Client on a daily basis and fall back to HTML5 only when I have issues installing flash client, which is rare.
HTML5 doesn't provide full functionality in 6.5. But if you're still reluctant to move, VMware promised to release fully-featured HTML5 in the next release. So stay tuned.

HendersonD Oct 19, 2017 4:51 PM (in response to Nick_Andreev)Yes, I have heard the rumors that ESXi 6.7 will have a full featured HTML5 client. We are planning on upgrading to new hosts in April. Any idea if the new version will be released by then?

4. Re: HTML5 client under 6.5 Update 1, how is it?
JMachieJr Oct 20, 2017 9:05 AM (in response to Nick_Andreev)Over exaggerated? I don't think so. I have had to deal with numerous ongoing issues with my support staff using the web client. Every couple of weeks someone calls me to ask why the web client isn't working for them. Maybe you work in a small environment where you don't have a lot of people using it? One of the main reasons we won't be going to 6.5 is because we don't want the hassle of being tied to a client that VMware hasn't been able to get working right for years.

theaaronstrong Oct 21, 2017 7:20 PM (in response to HendersonD)Majority of our servers are HP BL460 G7,9. I heard G7 has had some issues. Has anyone else seen this issue with vSphere 6.5 Update 1?

I am confused. You state that your support staff has had lots of issues using the web client. You then go on to say that you won't be going to 6.5 due to these issue. If you are not on 6.5 why is your support staff using the web client at all? If you are not on 6.5 you can use the thick client

9. Re: HTML5 client under 6.5 Update 1, how is it?
RedKomrad Nov 12, 2017 11:01 AM (in response to HendersonD)I'm a small shop ( just me ) as well. It's useable but the client crashes a lot, to be honest. I reload the client several times a day when something unexpected happens. The worst part of the experience is when setting up a new Guest and resources page ( memory, hard drive, network , etc ) doesn't load correctly. It has negative values for memory size, hard drive size, etc. It takes a few reloads to fix.
That the ESXI html5 client running in Safari 11 on MacOS High Sierra.
Hope that helped.
