vDS Best Teaming and Failover Policies for Etherchannel

Hello,

I have a question regarding vmware Distributed switch Teaming and failover policies setting . In my scenario i have Server Chassis with two backend network IO modules, inserted in different slots. I want to configure LACP/Ethernal Channel between ports of these switches and Top of the Rack switches. Chassis Switch1 connected with Top of the rack Nexsus switch 1 and Chassis Switch2 connected with TOP of the rack Nexsus switch 2 . VPC is configured on these Nexsus Switches. Please suggest best Teaming and failover policies settings against this scenario, while esxi host contains 4 NICS in it.

Thanks

I will recommend to use Route Based on Physical NIC Load (LBT) algorithm, and you can even create just a single switch with all your four NIC and enable Network I/O Control. The following blog post shows some benefits of LBT over etherchannel with IP hash: Etherchannel and IP Hash or Load Based Teaming? | Long White Virtual Clouds

No, the name is Route Based on Physical NIC Load, see:
