Unreal Engine Development on VMware Mac OS High Sierra, running on Win10 PC

Hey there,

So ok, I want to develop AR applications on iOS devices using UE4. Now to develop this you need:

  • Apple Developer Licence (Tick)
  • MAC OS (Tick - via VMware)
  • Xcode 9 (Tick - via VMware)

I have managed to get the latter 2 items working via VMware, however, when I load UE4, the EPIC games launcher does not work. There are articles about this, namely:

why I can not install the unreal engine in vmware? - UE4 AnswerHub

One of the article states:

VMware probably doesn't have the necessary hardware virtualisation needed to run the engine. I think the last time I looked - it barely supported dx9 (if that). They would need to be emulating GPU hardware capable of dx11 or opengl es for the engine to run on it.

Please could someone tell me, is there a workround for this, is there any possibility that this can be accomplished by any means at all using a VM product?

Thank you in hope.

Dominic
