AppStacks with Adobe products that require Adobe Login and Serial Number

Hello,

We are implementing AppVolumes into our environment. We have several Adobe Products that we are trying to make work with AppStacks. Currently, we have Adobe CS6 and Adobe Technical Communication Suite. To activate, you are required to sign into your Adobe account and input the serial number.

I have created two appstacks for our Adobe Tech Comm Suites 5 and 2017. They are activated on the appstacks, but after assigning them to the user, they are required to login and input the serial number. Most of our users do not have their own adobe accounts, and we do not want to share the SN.

We have not implemented UEM. I am not sure if this would solve my issue. Any Ideas?

Hello jheinrich22,

I am licensing our Adobe CS6 Master Collection via the following command in the startup.bat:

adobe_prtk.exe --tool=Serialize --leid=MasterCollection-CS6-Win-GM --serial=XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX --adobeid=XXX@XXX.XXX

Hi ZellOr

Did you have to download that Adobe Serialize tool in order to utilize the command? I have tried to experiment with this and I cannot get it to work.

What you need to do before you install is create a distributuion package for CS6. It sounds a bit weird as you are using Appvolumes to distribute but if you use this tool it will burn the license key into the package and there is no need to activate it after that.

Check the following link or just download the AAMEE (Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition (AAMEE) 3.0 available 5/14/12 | Adobe Installation and ...

Using the simple installer without creating the package won;t work, not even with a writable volume. It seems as if Adobe creates a hash file for activation and uses the computer name in it. Because you alsways get a different machine with pooled desktops and Appvolumes. The second time you log in activation is down the drain.
