AppVolumes - San to San Replication

We've been following the multi-site deployment guide.  One option was to use storage group and built in replication but this doesn't seem to work when the volumes are in use.  The other option I've seen was using SAN to SAN replication.

Our requirement is to keep the secondary site up to date and also online. I was able to import the app stacks and writable volumes using san to san replication but subsequent refresh see the volumes but says they are invalid.

Rejected all 8 volumes because they are invalid or have no accessible volume file

and

Error saving volume "xxx": ["Snapvol files is invalid"]

You can only sync Appstacks, if you create a storage group with multiple datastores it will be synced automatically.

Writables cannot be synced. Also, they can only be accesible in 1 out of multiple datastores. You would need to copy the writables to another store and use another folder than the defaule cloudvolumes\writables folder on your storage.
