Usage Meter 3.5 SOAPFaultException

Hi,

if i add some vCenter Server Applicances  (from VCSA 5.5 to 6.5) to my new usage meter 3.5 there seems to be everything ok - the vCenters are connected on Port 443 and i can browse the vCenter inventory under the Rules Tab, so the connection seems to be fine.

However, when the usage meter starts the hourly collection there is always an errror on the Monitoring Tab:

##

ERROR [Event Monitor $VCENTER_FQDN events.EventMonitor: javax.xml.ws.soap.SOAPFaultException: Die Aufgabe wurde von einem Benutzer

##

I also receive one Mail from the usage meter for each vCenter:

##

Usage Meter is unable to collect data from VC $VCENTER_FQDN. Please resolve the error as soon as possible otherwise usage meter will stopmetering it after 24 Hours if unresolved

##

As the connections seems ok, i have no idea what could cause this problem.

Thanks,

Jan

When did you add your vCenters to UM3.5? Did you ever get a successful hourly collection? How many vCenters are on this UM? Did they all behave this way? Thanks.

Most of the vCenters where added at the end of January and at the beginning i got some successsful collections for a few vCenters, but meanwhile i dont receive any successful or failed collection mails.

The monthly usage report für March contains 14 of 25 and the monthly usage for Februar shows 22 of 25 vCenters. In total there are 25 vCenters, 4 vCloud Directors and 3 vRealize Operations Manager added to the UM.

We also have same error message: javax.xml.ws.soap.SOAPFaultException: Die Aufgabe wurde von einem Benutzer abgebrochen.

Will it help if we Disable Java Management Extensions for vCloud Usage Meter?

Hi Martin,

I'm part of vCloud Usage Meter team. We are working to resolve this case and any additional information will be helpful. Can you please share more details how did you reproduce the exception? Is there something specific in your setup?

Thank you in advance.

Rayna

Hello Rayna,

i don't think we have anything special.

Usage metter is connected to only one vcenter server.

I can send you log file.

Also we have problem with inventory view. In vcenter there is plenty of VMs, but in inventory view in UM we can see only 1 VM.

We checked permissions of the user, but it has permission on whole datacenter.

Kind regards

Martin

Hi there,

we are actually facing exactly the same issue having Build 4359663 of Usage Meter 3.5 running and would be thankful for a solution.

Hi,

Generally you can get support for the Usage Meter by filing a support request (SR) ticket. For this particular issue, I believe it was fixed in UM 3.6.1. This is a patch release where we fixed a lot of issues and improved the performance of the the product. Please, try it and see if it is fixed

Boyan
