This can happen if you have Workstation, Player, or possibly an earlier version of VMRC installed. Run

vmware-installer -l

to see what, if anything, is there.

Hmm...It's a freshly installed Debian, so no vmware products are installed currently:

# ./VMware-Remote-Console-10.0.1-5898794.x86_64.bundle -l

Extracting VMware Installer...done.

sudo or root the result is the same

Currently i have some default packages, some dev/compile tools, oracle java.... nothing more.

Ah, sorry, it slipped my mind that VMRC 10.0 does not support Debian (the release notes mention a different problem than what you're seeing though). We're tracking this issue internally with ticket 1828591 and hope to release a fix soon.

Use VMRC 9 in the mean time if possible.

Thank you! I'll try VMRC9.
