Microsoft Clustering between sites?

I can´t find any information if it is possible to run MSCS between VMware sites. I found the information that it is possible to run between physical hosts but does anyone know if it works between sites? Any link to a VMware document?

We are running vSphere version 6.

Thanks.

Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS) support on ESXi/ESX (1004617) | VMware KB

Here is the overarching KB article for clustering support in VMware.

https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/6.0/vsphere-esxi-vcenter-server-601-setup-mscs.pdf

Here is the guide specific to your version.

Hope this helps

Thanks, but I can´t find any information if MSCS is supported between sites in any of those documents. Between physical hosts yes, but no info regarding cross sites.

In order to implement clustering you have a requirement for low latency networking and you have a requirement for shared storage.

Do you have shared storage between your two sites?

Do you have low latency networking between sites?

Yes on both questions. I just wish VMware was a bit clearer about this topic. Not that hard to add "Support cross-site clustering Yes/No".

But thanks for your time and help.

By VMware sites you mean different physical locations right? It depends on the OS version and it is called Multi-Site Failover Clustering. VMware have not specifically any recommendations to setting up the same. You need to check below MS KB for recommendations for Multi-Site Failover clustering:

https://technet.microsoft.com/pt-br/library/dd197575(v=ws.10).aspx

There are otehr Technet KBs for the same as well you can refer them as well.
