Win 10, unable to start VMWare Workstation -VMware Workstation and Hyper-V are not compatible.

I have seen many post with the same error but the suggested method to resolve is not working:

bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off

When I run bcdedit, I can see that "hypervisorlaunchtype off"

I also came across another that had several bcdedit's but again that did not help.

This start after I rebooted my system and now I can't get my vm to start.  Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Serge

Is there anyone on the VMWARE support team that could please bring any suggestions.  I have been working through certain registry keys and new computer profiles and I'm unable to start my VM.  I believe this will only get bigger with other users.

Windows 10 10.0.14393 N/A build 14393

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The Hyper V and Workstation are getting conflicted. When you run the command bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off You need to reboot of the Windows OS to reflect the changes. To enable the Hyper-V role again use the following command:

bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype auto

A reboot of of the Windows OS is necessary. or refer to VMware Workstation and Hyper-V are not compatible. Remove the Hyper-V role from the system before ru...

Same issue here. The problem is that as stated by the thread starter "bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off" does NOT solve the issue. After reboot VMware Workstation 12 will work but only until next reboot (without ever entering "bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype auto") . We need a permanent solution to use VMware Workstation again please. At the moment it's unusable (note everyone can restart their machine everytime they want to use a VMware Workstation VM...).

I already tried turning off the Windows feature as well. Same result: After second reboot Hyper-V is enabled again and VMware Workstation not working.
