I am working on one task to persist one folder under "c:\" called "test folder" and who can I achieve it using UEM?

Thank you,

Hi Vkmr,

There is not built-in support for saving files/folders outside the user's profile.

I think there are 2 options.

1. Move the folder to a location in the user's profile (if possible) and save that using the built-in locations you can choose within UEM.

This also allows you for saving/restoring the folder using DirectFlex if needed or preferred.

2. Save/restore the preferred location (outside the user's profile) using a copy script at logoff/logon.

For both options be aware that depending the size of the folder/content, it may have impact on logon/logoff performance. Same goes for application start/stop if you choose option 1 with DirectFlex.

Does this answer your question?

Hi Sravan_k,

The recent Pervasive 9.0 thread describes this quite well – just substitute c:\test for c:\pvsw\bin in mellicott's answer 🙂

I tried implementing that solution, using this "Pervasive 9.0 " I can able to export at log-off but I can not able to import them at user log-in [I tried the import option with synchronous and asynchronous but no result]

waiting on your input Smiley Sad

Thank you,

Vkmr.

Hi Vkmr,

Can you show us the tasks you run for export and import, and the FlexEngine log file? Also, can you check whether the profile archive does indeed contain the settings you expect?

Hi Vkrm,

Unfortunately, my over zealous security settings won't allow me to open the logs zip, so I don't know what that says, but do you have write permissions to c:\pb-test on the VM?  Assuming pb-test is delivered by an Appstack, it'll be read-only by default.

Also, is a zip file created on logoff containing the files in pb-test?

Cheers,

Ha ha, Thanks for reply

I just messaged you thous log's,

PB-test file is not part of app stack, it is in parent image and has the admin rights.

yes the zip file is creating and updating on log-off

Please let me know if you need any more information.

Hi all,

I found the reason behind the issue, actually I am using only switch /y which will overwrite the destination folder, but now I am using /s which resolver our issue.

and also there is other condition that I am using in UEM for this task to apply on user

Thank you,

Vkmr.
