Network Adapter now showing after clone (Windows 2008 R2)

A machine i cloned can't connect to the LAN, the network adapter section is blank as it doesn't have any network adapters associated to it, i have tried to re-install the drivers, re-installed the nics, but nothing seems to work, the original VM does not have this problems (ESXi 6.0)

When you say "... re-installed the nics ...", does this mean that you removed/added virtual network adapters to the VM's configuration? What type/model of virtual NIC did you add (E1000, E1000E, VMXNET3, ...)?

That sounds strange. Please open the Device Manager within the VM, and enable "Hidden Devices". If any network adapters show up, try to delete them, and then let Windows scan for new hardware.

Ok, it looks like like a Windows issue in this case.

What you may try at this point is to run (both from an elevated command prompt):

  1. chkdsk c: /f
  2. sfc /scannow

If these commands don't help, you may try to create a new clone to see whether it is/was a one time issue.

one of the first thing we tried was to create a new clone, but the problem persist, going to try the commands
