Dell Optiplex 7010 USB 3.0 vib package

My ESXi 5.5 box detects the USB 2.0 controller, but not the USB 3.0 controller. It is a Dell Optiplex 7010. I'm looking for the ESXi driver (vib package) for the Intel USB 3 device. The device ID is 8086:1E31. Intel® 7 Series/C216. If anyone knows where I can download it, please advise. Thanks.

Few things to check/try:

sleep/wake on USB devices or PCIe bus in BIOS/EFI or on the USB card itself, probably disable such settings

power down the machine, unplug the power cord, press power button for 4-5 seconds (this clears off any power state, and the visible evidence was any light on the MB that was on even after OS shutdown turns off, at least this used to work for a Dell XPS 8700 that I used to have, might be similar for OptiPlex)

if possible, try on a different PCIe slot

Check again the vmkernel.log whether these wake mask entries stick around after disabling whatever sleep/wake settings in the BIOS/EFI or on the USB 3.0 controller

vijayrana968, the USB device is a USB 3.0 external hard drive which is connected to a USB 3.0 port built-in the motherboard. The external USB 3.0 hard drive shows up as: Bus 004 Device 002: ID 067b:2773 Prolific Technology, Inc. PL2773 SATAII bridge controller. The controller where this USB drive is attached is shown as 0000:00:14.0 Serial bus controller: Intel Corporation 7 Series/C210 Series Chipset Family USB xHCI Host Controller. This is what I would like to set to passthrough mode.

I have two other USB 3.0 hard drives attached to a PCI card. The PCI card is already set to passthrough and all works fine there. This is detected by ESXi as: 0000:01:00.0 Serial bus controller: ASMedia Technology Inc. ASM1042A USB 3.0 Host Controller. The two USB drives attached to the PCI card are working normally and they appear in the guest OS.

The objective now is to add a third external USB drive to the guest OS, and that USB drive is connected to the USB 3.0 port built-in to the motherboard as explained in the first paragraph.

Thanks,

MV
