Active VM shows as white screen after resuming host from hibernation

I'm running Windows 7 x64 and VMware workstation 12.5.7 build-5813279. Since upgrading to this version I notice that after I resume the computer from hibernation the active VM tab is just a white screen and does not show the display. This is not like if the guest goes to sleep or turns off its display because when that happens it's black. Also in this particular Ubuntu guest I have the display turn off disabled. If I switch to an inactive VM tab and then back to an active one the screen is no longer white. Has anyone else noticed something similar?

This is has only happened in the last few weeks if I recall correctly. Prior to that I used version 12.5.6-5528349 and 12.5.5-5234757 and I don't believe they contain the bug.

You can reinstall workstation and check if this helps or can check with power on settings of VM and workstation.

Update, I had rebooted the host a month ago and despite daily host hibernations since then I haven't observed this problem again.

I can reproduce a white screen but I'm not sure if it's the same issue. Select a running Ubuntu guest and click the show/hide console view button to hide the console, which will show the summary. Now click on a different VM that is paused and then click back to the first VM. Now click the show/hide console again and the console should be shown but instead it is white. Toggling show/hide the library causes the console to be shown again. Workstation Pro 14.1.1 build-7528167
