Cluster not showing host

I am sure the answer to this is somewhere but I am new here.  I have 3 host that are managed by vcenter with a cluster created however the cluster does not register as if any host are part of the cluster.  I have a VNX attached via multi homed HBA's.  I need to upgrade off of 5.1 but my question is why is it not showing any host registered?

I suspect that the cluster has been created but the host have not been added but I could be wrong.  If I add them to a cluster with DRS and HA will I lose any configurations?

ESXi 5.1

Vcenter and Update manager 5.5

All host are R720's

Thanks

Hello Kyle,

There may be multiple reasons that the host is not showing in cluster.

-one could be that they are not added to vCenter hence not to clsuter.

To check this try to login to the host directly, if it shows that the host is managed by vCenter that means these were there in vCenter at one point of time.

-Second it might be removed from vCenter inventory

Add them back to the vcenter via root passwd

--create the new cluster with DRS and HA Enabled, add the hosts to cluster

it will not impact the configuration of Running VMs if any.

Please reply back, if found any other info..

hi @kyle7989 ,

have you logged into this vCenter in the past? or is it the first time you login to this vCenter?

if its the first time I would suggest to check your permissions.
