Get who/what/when Powered down/caused an outage on vCenter

So from time to time I experience outages while doing regular maintenance simply because other individuals have access to the vCenter. I'd like an easy way to determine this. I found that Get-VIEvent does not capture this. How else can i capture this information? Directly on the vCenter box? From what log can i get this from? What specific directory is the log located in?

This can be a PowerCLI solution or just a basic SSH technique for me to obtain this info.

Which outages are you referring to? vCenter, ESXi nodes, VMs...?

How did you determine that these outages do not create events?

i mean vCenter. If i am working in a vCenter and all of a sudden i lose the connection to the vCenter. I'd like to know what is causing it. It's not a client network issue, this is server related. For example, i even tried logging directly into the web client and got a 503 Error. So i want to track down, what caused that.

I determined that these outages did not create events because when i tried to pull the logs for the time period,  got no events returned.

Are you using vCenter or VCSA?

Is the vCenter installed on a Windows server?

If yes, might it be the issue mentioned in KB2033822 that you are experiencing?

You could also check the symptoms described in KB2121043.

The vpxd logs are definitely worth checking for additional clues.
