Good morning,
I have a question, if i don't have a KMS activation server, but i have already activated Windows & Office in the parent VM, then i compose the desktop pool use the snapshot of the parent VM, does every desktop vm in the pool need Windows & Office activation again ?
1. What will happen if use Windows sysprep ?
2. How about quickprep ?
Thanks.
if you don't have a KMS activation server, then You need a Volume Licensing (VL) for Windows & Office
An extremely complicated concept to understand is Microsoft Licensing in general. If you’re trying to properly license virtual desktops running Windows, your level of complication just multiplied. Volume Licensing (VL) programs are based on either a user or a device, depending on the software of course. You’ve also probably heard of VDA licenses. VDA means “virtual desktop access.”
TRY THIS:
When installing Windows 10 you can use one of the KMS client keys found at https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj612867(v=ws.11).aspx
After you have installed the View Agent as part of your Parent Image, open the registry editor and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ControlSet001\Services\vmware-viewcomposer-ga
Here you will find an entry for SkipLicenseActivation. Change this from 0 to 1.
Your Windows 10 desktops will now provision.

After VM provision, the end users need to activiate Windows and Office manually using Volume Licensing key, correct?

Im a little confused. So after the install completes will it be activated with one of these keys or do i need to change it? I have tried to activate with a mak key but just as soon as it provisions it need activation again even with the registry setting
