SRM Error "Failed to load SRA from 'C:/Program Files/VMware/VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager/storage/sra/Dell/Compellent" Cause: 'Unknown element 'StretchedStorage'

Good afternoon,

I had an issue on this environment about the Dell SRA 16.2.1.213 for Compellent Array, On SRM/SRA logs I saw the unknown element on XML called 'StretchedStorage'

SRM.jpg

Compellent SCOS 7.1

SRA 16.2.1.213

vCenter 5.5

SRM 5.8

I tried to reinstall the SRM and SRA but the problem still the same, the versions are compliant with VMware matrix and I cannot find any topic on community about these error, anyone can help on it?

Thanks!

Check the Language format on Windows side (Control Panel > Region and Language). It should be configured with English (United States) format.

I've seen problems on SRM machines configured with different formats.

After changing the language format on SRM host you must rescan the SRA.

The simple explanation is that SRA gets the SRM version and the decimal symbol is very important in this case.

You are using a newer version of DELL SRA that is not compatible with your version of SRM.

Hi Stefan,

I'm using SRA 16.3.1 that is fully supported both on Dell Compellent documents and on VMware Compatibility Matrix site.

Why are you saying this new version is not supported?

I have the same identical issue and I'm investigating with Dell.

Regards.

You right Michele, this solution sounds good for Compatibility Matrix VMware/DellEMC.

Each specific error you has facing?

Exactly yours!

I'm using the same Compellent SRA/DSM on other customers without issues, but the others are using a newer SRM version.

The customer on which I'm having this issue has SRM 5.8.1 as you.
