Does storage vmotion need the vMotion network ?

Ask one question, does storage vmotion(without host change) need the vMotion network ? And how about storage cold migration ?

Hi,

Yes, you can do storage VMotion and cold migration without VMotion network (because it uses management network for it)

Even I have tried both in my lab and it was successful.

storage vmotion generally uses the management network for data transfer. So it does not require vmotion port group.
