Horizon 7.1 printer redirection over BLAST

Hi All,

We have an 2012 R2 RDS farm which is being accessed over the internet via BLAST. The RDS session loads fine however the issue we have is that printers are not being redirected. The below thread also mentions the same issue albeit version 6.2. Due to regulation, we are not allowed to install the View client and are only being given outbound access on 443.

I've tried location based printing etc; with no avail. The Horizon agent on the RDS server has Virtual printing etc; installed.

I know (and have used) HTML5 printing in XenApp 7.6 environments, surely this exists in the Horizon platform.

Any ideas?

As far as I know Blast does not support printer redirection.

VMWare uses ThinPrint in it's PCoIP Protocl to redirect the printer and because you are connecting using a webpage it cannot connect to the local printer.

But if you are using version 7.1 you should be using Blast Xtreme right? And Blast Extreme does support print redirection.
