Can I run with different versions of View at same time - under a single View Instance?

Hi. Can a single instance of Horizon View support more than one version of View? For example, I currently have a desktop cluster running View 6.0.1. I want to test out View 7.1 on a separate desktop cluster but still maintain a single URL to all View desktops. Can View 7.1 be a replica to View 6.0.1 servers?

Horizon environment requires multiple components working together in concert. You can either have View 6 or 7 but you should not have both in a production environment unless for testing. If you still want to give it a try;

* Install a Replica Connection Server 7 – Additional Connection Servers that replicate from the standard Connection Server 6.

* You might also need to install a new version of View Composer Server or possibly use the current one

* The tables in the database might not be happy running two different version of view but you can try to create new tables

* You also might need to install the new View Agent for the newly created VMs & most likely the latest version of the VMware Tools for 7

If it's for testing run 7 with 6 or if you care about 6 just install an entire view 7 environment separated from 6 so you don't mess with the components or upgrade/run a clean install of 7.

Thanks for the response Raul. I'm very familiar with View (have deployed and worked with it since the beginning of View). Just wasn't sure if View 7.X could be a replica of View 6.X. It's for a customer production environment, so I'll let them know it's not a supported config.

Cheers
