vSphere Replication Appliance (VRM) “Site pairing or break operation failed.”

I have deployed one vSphere replication VRM appliance at Primary site and second at DR Site... getting the following error while trying to connect...

“Site pairing or break operation failed.”

I also found the following in hms.log file;

/opt/vmware/hms/logs/hms*.log

hms.log -> java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: com.vmware.vim.vmomi.client.exception.ConnectionException: org.apache.http.conn.HttpHostConnectException: Connection to http://172.16.40.4:80 refused

please suggest...

172.16.40.4 what IP is that  ?  Can you please confirm it  ? Also please do check if you met all the network port requirements

Ports that must be open for Site Recovery Manager 1.0.x to 5.5.x, vSphere Replication 1.0.x to 5.5.x...

Ok cool. What version of VR we are using in this setup ?

1) perform a /etc/init.d/hbrsrv restart  on VR and confirm the status .

2) DNS should be working ,VC fwd/Rervrs lookup from VR.

3) Try migrating VR to another host and perform a registration.

4) Do a curl -v telnet://x.x.x.x:80 from VR appliance.

I've performed telnet test and found that ;

PRIMARY_SITE can telnet to DR_SITE over port 80

DR_SITE can't telnet to PRIMARY_SITE over port 80

sorry for the late update. Did you managed to find out why PORT 80 is blocked ?

can you check your DNS with nslookup? make sure you can do forward and revers nslookups for all servers. or just add the DNS record, flush the VRA’s DNS cache either from the command line or by rebooting the system from VAMI interface. Save and restart for both VRAs, Log out and back into both of the vCenter Server web clients.
