Hello I change my laptop two weeks back, and now I don't have access to the Vcloud Director page for my company.

On my old laptop I get the screen attached by now on my new laptop I saw the following message:

It is difficult to point out the reason for GUI access failure with this little information.Other than system change what else got changed ?

Network ?

What O/S you are running currently ?

Any proxy updated in new system ?

Hw is the firewall policy ?

Pls try the following steps.

1. nslookup the vCloud FQDN which is part of the URL mentioned. This is to confirm the name is resolving to IP.

2. telnet to the port 443 with the IP received above to confirm you can communicate to the HTTPS port from laptop.

3. Open a private tab or incognito tab and access the URL . If it works close the tab and clear browser cache, history, cookies etc.

To check communication run telnet command on the vCloud Director cell

If you see an output similar to:

telnet: connect to: Connection refused

telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused

After that :-

Inform your database administrator to check the Oracle Listener on the database and also check if the database is up and operational.

After the database issues are resolved, restart the cell using these commands:

service vmware-vcd stop

service vmware-vcd start
