I have an open case with VMware because I cannot get the SNMP adapter to monitor my physical hosts. They are having the developers look at it now. Also noticed that VROPS has no way of notifying me when a VM reboots. This is a serious oversight.
Same here. I opened a case in last december.
I can import the mib-files, but i can't see the content of the mib somewhere in vrops. Wether in the policies or in symptom definitions.
In the log of the snmp-collector I got Errors about missing index numbers for the OID, but where to configure them?
I miss somehting like the 'Attribute packages' as in the old vcops to edit the metrics collected in the mib-file and to configure the indexes or instance names needed for some OID's.
can you please share the link to download vrops mib's
Has anyone got any updates on this?
I setup the SNMP on vROPs 6.4, I'm getting data from predefined metrics but none from the MIBs I installed, they actually don't even show up.
The documentation in the SNMP department is severely lacking and I am working on getting that updated for vROps (since it's still written for vCOps).
I did find a good article that explains the process step by step so you can give that a go - https://www.vmbaggum.nl/2015/02/how-to-use-snmp-with-vrealize-operations/ .
Can you please show the errors under /storage/vcops/log/SNMPAdapter/<logfile>.log
