VCP 6.5 Beta Exam Scoring Timeline

I completed the VCP 6.5 Beta Exam yesterday and was curious to know when to expect a score back. I am a current VCP5 holder but my certification expires 1-22-17. Not sure how the scoring timeline and test timeline work into my re-certification.

It will likely be March before you get your beta exam result - read this: Certification Program Beta Exams

If you pass the beta exam, you're good - it will count towards your recertification, your VCP5-DCV will be renewed, and you'll be a VCP6-DCV too.

If you fail the beta exam, it will be too late to do anything else to renew your VCP5-DCV - you'll need to take training and pass 2 exams to achieve VCP6-DCV (as per path 4 here), and your VCP5-DCV will be gone forever.

Doing nothing else now is a gamble - it's down to you to decide how confident you feel that you will have passed the beta exam.

If you want to guarantee/protect your VCP5-DCV, pass either the existing 2V0-621 or 2V0-621D before the 22nd.

Thank you for the info and fast reply Scott. I had taken the exam at the last minute since it was fairly inexpensive and my current employer wasn't prepared to reimburse me for the certification.

I'll wait out the scoring since I feel decent enough about the test.

Still waiting for the final exam release date, that has to happen before beta takers get their result - from what I've learned that should be roughly 1 month from now.

Looks like VCP 6.5 is out of beta on Monday. Will I see results before then or at some point after the 24th?

Typically beta exam results are not released until a few weeks after the production exam is released.

I wonder why it takes so long for VMware to release the results. I took the exam on 14th Feb. and now its close to 3 months. Now even the VCP 6.5 Delta exam is released. Hope to get the results soon.
