VCD 5.5 + VCNS 5.5 upgrade or migrate

Hi,

We have vsphere 5.5 enviroment with VCD and vShield manager, we need to upgrade to vsphere 6.5, VCD 8.2 and NSX 6.3.

What will be the recommended way?

1. Upgrade the existing environment step by step.

2. Build a clean environment and migrate catalog, vApps templates etc. Is this a valid option?

This is one Cell environment.

Thanks.

Confirm the upgrade is fully supported as per VMware Product Interoperability ->VMware Product Interoperability Matrices  . It looks supported as per my check

> Take backup&snapshot of VCD,VC and VCNS

> Upgrade underlying vsphere infrastructure followed by VCNS to NSX

Upgrading VMware vCNS 5.5.x to NSX 6.2.x (2144620) | VMware KB

NSX 6 Documentation Center

> Register NSX with New VC

> Upgrade VCD (Take a back-up of VCD prior to this stage- In case of upgrade failure you can simply revert to working state)

> Start the cell service after Upgrade and check VC/NSX connectivity

Hope there is no cert/fqdn/ip change ?
