I have an annoying problem with the vSphere Client 4.1.0 running under Windows 7. The problem occurs when accessing the console for my VMs. When I initially display the console, it comes up fine, but if I minimize vSphere client and the console window, I cannot get the console window to display when I select it from the Windows 7 Taskbar. The taskbar mouse-over displays the window mini-preview, but when I select it, it will not come to the foreground. I usually have to close the console window from the taskbar or cycle through the windows using Windows-Key + Tab (Aero Flip) in order to get the console window to come back to the foreground.
Does anyone know if there is a fix for this problem?
I have the same issue.. did anyone come up with a solution??
I've never had an issue with this myself, but a couple of my colleagues experience it all the time; we're all using the client from 4.1 U1 (Build 345043) and all running Windows 7 x64.
I did find that if you log in to the web client and create desktop shortcuts for the VM consoles, then those work quite happily - browser-based stuff always seems to have that effect
I'll keep looking for any other similarities/differences between mine and the other machines (don't hold your breath!), or maybe it'll all be fixed in the V5 client :smileydevil:
Mark.
I use vSphere Client 4.1.0 Build 258902 with no issues, on x86 or x64 win7.
Might wanna give that installer a try?

That is a downgrade from my current version. I am at 4.1.0 Build 345043. I think that was the deployed vSphere client version from my vCenter server.
Keep in mind, that the problem does not happen all of the time, but I cannot pinpoint why or what causes it to happen when it does happen.
I am having the exact same problem on two complete different systems, both running Windows 7. Any solutions to this as it becomes verry annoying in time.
Still broken on vSphere Client v6.0.0
One Win 7 pc works (32 bit) but another (64 bit) does not.
The Windows-Tab key seems to be the only way to get the screen back.
