VMware Fusion 8.5.3 is unable to create installation medium

I'm trying to install an additional OSX 10.9 Instance on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15', Mid 2015)  running osx 10.10.5

VMWare quits with "unable to create installation medium".

I've checked the machine, recreated the usb-boot stick, copied the installer to my HD first, all in vain ...

Also tried to create an empty virtual disk and making it boot with the installer disk.

Does anyone have an idea, where to look ...

Regards, Stefan

Hi,

Not sure where you got the 10.9 installer from, but if it is an old download then realize that some time ago the certificate used to sign the old installer expired.

You should be able to fix that by downloading the installer from apple again.

Hi,

unfortunatelly I couldnt get a new version of the installer.

For some (unknown) reason a collegue of mine running VMF 7.x was able to create the installation medium.

So I copied it to my machine in order to finish the OS.Installation. Before starting the OS Installer I had to change the date of the VM vin Termnal.

Thanks,

Stefan
