Can I sync one virtual machine between two computers?

I have a Linux VM set up for school on my laptop and I would like to be able to sync the VM so that I can pick up where I left off on my home workstation. It should be just as I last left it on the laptop when I start it up on my other computer, and when I make any changes on my home computer, I would like my laptop to be synchronized with my home desktop.

Seems like a simple solution but I haven't found any answers online.

I am using a Macbook and a Mac Pro to host my VM.

Thank you!

Hi,

No, there is no such functionality built in.

You could possibly take your virtual machine from one host to another, but beware that doing so has a few extra rules like shut down -not suspend the VM, best to not keep snapshots and make extra backups. If your guest is Windows then there's always a bit of a risk of activation issues if your CPUs on the hosts are very different.

From the sounds of what you are looking for however you are probably better served by using something like dropbox.
