Why we need to create persistent desktop pool for developers

Hi Team,

I would like to know why we have to create persistent VDI pool for developers?

Reasons:

#1: They have to install their won application

#2:

Reason:

1. If the desktop is persistent then user will be dedicatedly assigned for it. So, whenever he logs in he will get the same desktop and locally user installed applications and stored data will be available to that user all the time

2. If its linked clone persistent desktop, it will have UDD (User Data Disk) attached to it where the User profiles will be redirected

3. Developers can save their files locally in UDD instead of a network share

4. During any maintenance operation like Recompose / Refresh the UDD will be preserved

5. Developer specified settings on the desktops will be retained as he will be getting the same desktop all the time when he logs in

They might need other configurations and faster storage then the rest.

My recommendation is to give the developers 2 desktops, 1 for "normal" work and 1 for development work.

Then you can have other policys for those 2 pools with regards to backup etc.
