Appvolumes 2.10: "Fault in vcenter_reconfig_vm"

I just recently did a fresh install of Appvolumes 2.10 and am constantly getting the following errors on the Manager server.

Mar 22 2016 11:37AM

Fault in execute_reconfig: This account has insufficient permissions

Mar 22 2016 11:36AM

Fault in vcenter_reconfig_vm: This account has insufficient permissions

Environment:

vSphere: 6.0U1

Horizon: 6.2.2

Appvolumes: 2.10

I configured a VC role with the correct permissions (global) - I have re-checked these twice! I'm assuming the service account for VC is being referred to?

Strange thing is everything seems to work, all Appstacks are attached correctly.

Does anyone have an idea why i'm recieving these errors?

We're seeing the same thing in testing with 2.10.  Did you ever find a fix?

To give an update...we switched over to "Mount on host" for the App Stacks and the error went away so apparently it's something with the permissions VMware wants us to use.  I had a ticket opened with VMware and since this is the method we wanted to use anyways (prevents a single point of failure at the vCenter level) we left it at that and closed the ticket.  Ultimately it seems to be permissions-based with vCenter that VMware needs to look into further.

Please try to authenticate with the vCenter Account again in App Volumes Manager. Was the password for this account changed?

I experienced this same issue on 2.12. I had created a custom role based on the documentation for 2.11, but after reviewing what I created and comparing to the 2.12 documentation, there were differences. I updated the role to the list of permissions specified in 2.12 and the error went away.
