For implementing vRealize Network Insight one of the requirement is that Netflow has to be enabled on vDS
Would like to know will be there be any performance issue if we enable Netflow with vDS.
Any consideration which needs to be done before enabling Netflow with vDS.
Also let me know what is the licensing model of this product ?
Is it same as NSX ( Per CPU license) ?
License is per cpu.
Also less than 1% cpu impact.
Thanks.
Is there any official document from Vmware which specifies the resource utilization.
If it is there please share the same.
I do not think so. I have asked that question before and searched but have not found one.
I understand that for network insight it is enabled on vDS for the IPFIX log collection.
I have vDS which is on 3 different clusters but i want to use network insight only for 2 clusters.
how can i license it only for the 2 clusters (total 12 CPU for 2 clusters - each cluster 2 hosts)
Since IPFix is enabled on vDS which is spanned on all the clusters how can i license for only 2 clusters
if possible share me the link from Vmware explaining the network insight licensing model for NSX.
I am not able to find it from the below link.
rajeevsrikant, vRNI is an add-on to NSX so it follows the same license model. To answer your question directly, you need to license all hosts that the VDS spans. I asked about the license page to see f it can be updated. Work with your local VMware SE to get more details and options regarding licensing.
so you mean to say that I will not be entitled to use the Network Insight only to my hosts which I need to use it for.
The licensing should be the same as my NSX licenses. Is my understanding right ?
correct, the license model is same as NSX
