ESXI: Predictive Failure - Assert on all Disks

Hi,

My company has an esxi server (4.1.0) with 4 disks, 2 raid 1s for datastore. In configuration,, Health Status, Storage, I have a Predictive Failure Warning on all disks. We already had the same problem in 1 disk but never seen the warning on all disks, it's really strange. We already rebooted the host to check if the warnings disappeared, but we had no success. Can I run any health check on disks manually to verify if it's some "bug" ?

Best Regards,

José Filipe Ferreira.

Hi Jose,

The alert in the hardware status tabs are reported with the help of hardware monitoring agent like IMPI/CIM agents. Since the errors persists even after reboot, I dont think it is a host issue. Involve hardware vendor or check from hardware end if the disks are showing amber light or any indication of predictive failure.

Suresh

Raid-rebuilds can go completely wrong - especially if you use Raid 5.
I highly recommend to create a VMFS-header-dump of the affected datastore as long as it is still readable.
