Hi
I have tow vCenter server added to my product list in vCloud Usage Meter 3.5 Build 4359663.
Both has becom in the inactive list. If i try to re-activate the host i get the error:
There was a problem checking the certificate for vcenter01.name.local:443. Unexpected exception: java.net.UnknownHostException: vcenter01.name.local
There is no button to delete the host. How can I solve this?
Unknown host exception seems like a DNS issue. UM unable to resolve vcenter01.name.local . Can you please add vcenter server FQDN entry in host file of vcloud usage meter server and then activate it.

Hello i got the same error while trying to add my vcenter.
Added the vcenter IP an FQDN in the hosts file.
Now i get the following error:
Any idea?
I'm having the same issue with vCloud Director at the moment:
There was a problem checking the certificate for x.x.x.x:443. Unable to connect with x.x.x.x on port 443: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused
Graham - did you find a fix?
If I use vCloud Usage Meter 3.5 Build 4359663 and attempt to add a vCloud Director server, I get the following error:
There was a problem checking the certificate for x.x.x.x:443. Unable to connect with x.x.x.x on port 443: java.net.ConnectException: Connection Refused
If I use vCloud Usage Meter 3.3.3 Build and attempt to add the same vCloud Director server, I get the following error:
Unable to connect with x.x.x.x on port 443: java.net.ConnectException: Connection Refused
Firewall is disabled on the vCD cell.
Yes. The problem for me was that I was using the internal IP of the vCD server. vCD services do listen on that interface so I ended up having to use the IP/Hostname for the interface on the DMZ
Hope this helps.
have an similar issue if i add vcloud director:
There was a problem checking the certificate for vclouddirector.fqdn:443. Could not obtain certificate.
Same for ip or short name. i can resolve hostname from ssh.
Any Ideas?
Does vCD have more than one NIC? You need to use the one that the vCD services are bound to, ie the one used at the point of installing vCD
when I say "do listen" I mean "don't listen"
