Fedora 25 just updated to Kernel 4.9, and VMware Workstation 12.5.2 no longer works. Any idea when I fix will be available, or does anyone know a work around.

If you're up for re-packing some tarfiles that Workstation installs into /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source/ , take a look at the following post and see if it helps. (I'll repeat the disclaimer from that post: I haven't yet tested the patch on Fedora 25 myself!)

unpack:

vmmon.tar ( hostif.c )

vmnet.tar ( userif.c )
find all get_user_pages function. Remove one parameter before "ppage" or "&page"

pack it back.

all must work.

Please note: This issue was fixed in VMware Workstation 12.5.3, which was released in early March. If you are still encountering this particular failure, please upgrade your installation of VMware Workstation Pro/Player. The updated versions of VMware Workstation Pro/Player also include important security fixes, so it's worth doing the upgrade.
