VMCA - problem was encountered while provisioning signed certificate for the provider

Hello,

I test EMC vVNX VVOL with vCSA 6U1, when I try to register storage provider get an error:

The "Register new storage provider" operation failed for the entity with the following error message.

A problem was encountered while provisioning a VMware Certificate Authority (VMCA) signed certificate for the provider.

This is a fresh vCSA 6U1 install with external PSC 6U1. I have no idea how to diagnose the problem.

Regards,

Piotr

I made many tests, this error occurs only when VMCA functions as an intermediate to enterprise CA.

If VMCA work as self signed (external or embedded) evrything work ok, it does not matter whether the machine (vCenter with external PSC or embedded) is certified with the VMCA or enterprise CA.

I'm having the same error trying to add the vasa provider for vvols for IBM Spectrum Control. In my case, it's 6.0U2 and all-in-one vcsa using all defaults.. (no enterprise or extermal CA). just using VMCA.

Mine started working.. I am now using the latest spectrum control 3.1 (Just released in December), with latest VCSA 6.0U2 build (4541948)

Vvols is working great for us!
