Hi,
Has anyone got the best VMware practise how to configure the network on a ESXi host when its connected to a HP C7000 enclosure using shared uplinks? Do we use IP Hash or Port ID? Network team will be doing the configuration using a port channel to give us 20Gb bandwidth on each Bay between the 2 x 10Gb links.
ESXi Host Config
Management - vswitch0 - 2 x 8Gb
Public Traffic - vswitch1 - 2 x 10Gb
Virtual Connect
Bay 1 (management)
2 x 10Gb (Port channel) = 20Gb
Bay 2 (management)
2 x 10Gb (Port channel) = 20Gb
Public Traffic
Bay 1 (management)
2 x 10Gb (Port channel) = 20Gb
Bay 2 (management)
2 x 10Gb (Port channel) = 20Gb
Thanks
anyone?
Hi, have you found your solution?
Normally on blade system (without pass-through module) EtherChannel/LACP/Link Aggregation with IP Hash on vSwitch/VDS is not required. see this KB Sample configuration of EtherChannel / Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) with ESXi/ESX and Ci...
Depends on your config but as far as I know HP Virtual Connect doesn't support IP Hash as the individual vmnics will be going to different VC modules and will not be in the same LACP group.
