No USB devices connecting with after latest Windows Update

I am running VmWare Workstation 12.5.2 build-4638234 and I have had no issues with connecting USB device until now.

My Windows 10 host was updated to Version 10.0.14986 Build 14986 and since then I cannot connect any USB devices to any of my VMs, Ubuntu, Windows 7 and Windows 10.

I always get a pop-up error message telling me this is a driver error.  Has VmWare tested with the latest build?

John

Same problem here (with same Windows 10 build and same VMWare Workstation version). Neither reinstalling VMWare Workstation, nor uninstalling Root USB hub as advised here - Driver Error. Windows 10 - gave no results: USB devices still cannot be connected to guest.

To be precise, Windows 10 build 14986 is Insider Preview build.

Same here with Windows Insider Build 15007.

I am also having this problem. The problem started when I installed Insider build 15002 of Windows 10 on my host machine, and it persists on build 15007.

Also see this issue with Workstation Pro 12.5.2 using a variety of USB devices on the latest Win 10 15014 release.

Tried Oracle VirtualBox 5.1 and this works fine connecting the same USB devices from host to a similar Win 7 32 bit guest.

Looks like it's a VM Ware problem (due to the Windows 10 14986 changes).  Think we may need a Workstation Pro update.

Seems to be fixed with Windows 10 insider preview build 15048. (with VMware Workstation of same version 12.5.2 build-4638234).
