Instant Clone Patching

Does anyone go through the trouble of patching Instant Clone Bases?

Especially if they are going to be blown away after log off?

Or putting virus scan on them?

Just wondering. I really don't feel like increasing the size anymore than needed on these "throw away" machines.

You should always patch your OS no matter if they are non-persistent or persistent VMs.

Also put Anti-Virus on if your not going to use End-Point-Protection (NSX). VMware has a document on configuring AV in a master image.
