Several LUNs marked as 1 LUN

4.JPG

I noticed that some LUNS are detected as 1 LUN.

If we try to select only one LUN, it is detected as a group.

Please see screenshots for verification.

Note:

These is based on array based replication using EMC VMax.

VMs replicated via vSphere Replication on VSAN storage has no issues.

SRM groups datastores into 'datastore groups'. For example, if a VM has one VMDK in datastore A, and one VMDK in datastore B, SRM will treat both datstores as one datastore group, and both must be in the same protection group.

Can you please share screen shot from Storage adapter screen by select iSCSI?

And also screen shot from static/dynamic discovery (which ever you have selected to add LUN)?

Cheers!

Two possibles reasons:

1) A virtual machine contains virtual disks spread across multiples datastores;

2) You have something called Consistency Groups in your storage, not sure the name in EMC, but at IBM we call it Consistency Group.
