i have a question .What's the difference between Emc recovery point and vsphere replication . i want to make disaster scenario for my company .
We have two emc vnx 5600 and vcenter 6. Disaster site 500 km from my company.
emc recovery point is array based replication solution where you can configure once and fail over and failback to original is all easy with single setup. vsphere replication is esxi hostlevel replication where you need two configurations one is when you protect your primary site and after failover you have to protect DR again as primary and then replicate. but cost wise you need more money for emc recovery point whereas vsphere replication is free,
RecoverPoint is array based replication. This means that it is replicating at the LUN/datastore level. Note that if you don't have RecoverPoint yet your arrays may also support replication. VR is VM level replication which allows for replicating individual VMs. See this blogpost for a detailed comparison: SRM - Array Based Replication vs. vSphere Replication - VMware vSphere Blog
Note that in addition to a replication technology you will also likely want a DR orchestration/automation tool like SRM. SRM works with either array based replication or vsphere replication.
which is the best ? array based or vm replica ?
The best solution is what meets your requirements and constraints. You would need to determine that, or post them all here.
