Shortcut Issue with running Ubuntu on OSX VMware

Hello,

I am running an ubuntu 16.04 VM in an OSX Sierra host.

Everything works fine VM wise except some keys that don't seem to be mapped properly inside the linux VM.

I was previously a parallels customer, and this was working fine with parallels.

When installing the linux VM, i picked up a French Macintosh Keyboard.

when I am typing the key just right below escape key, which has both @ and # keys, i get the < and > keys in the linux VM.

I'm not sure how to fix that issue, would anyone have a clue .

Hi LongChair,

We cannot reproduce the issue with the Fusion 8.5.2 build, could you please share us your Fusion version?

For the IME setting in Linux VM, we cannot reproduce the your issue with the “French” IME, please refer to it in “IME_FR_OK.png”.

But when we change to another French long IME, the key cannot work well, please refer to it in” IME_LongFR_incorrect.png”.

Could you please let us know your Linux IME, it’s appreciative if you can attach the screenshot for it.

Also attach the Mac physical keyboard for your reference in case we have any gap, please refer to “FR_Mac_Keyboard.png”.

BTW, the Mac IME should be switch to French IME at the same time.

Thanks,

Linda
