OneDrive for Business and Floating Pools

I am trying to figure out how I can use OneDrive for Business in a Floating Pool that refreshes after log off.  We don't want files to sync to the drive due to space restrictions and refreshing of the machine.

We have a link to the user's OneDrive in the cloud and want associates to use that or save to a folder that is redirected.  My problem with that is that the user has to keep logging into OneDrive for the link to work.  They also have to make sure they save it to that folder.

We have two folders that are redirected, but we want users to be in the habit of saving to OneDrive.

We are using UEM and App Volumes.  We are also using the Writeable disk but not the one that retains personal settings.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

I found an answer to my dilemma.  I was able to block OneDrive using Application Blocking feature in UEM.  UEM by default will only allow programs that start from Windows, Program Files, and Program Files (x86) to run.  If I need to, I can allow other programs that do not start from one of those directories.

I failed to mention that when I saved a Microsoft Word document, OneDrive for Business opened to the cloud without any credential prompting.

I also stopped OneDrive for personal use using UEM.

What do you do when users have to save files in non-Microsoft applications to One Drive? Can you explain what folders you are re-directing? Are they being re-directed to One Drive? Thanks

bjohn,

I found that by blocking OneDrive, the links to OneDrive opened to the web when saving through one of the Office products.  We also created a mapped drive to the user's OneDrive on their desktop. They have to log in to OneDrive to connect to the OneDrive.  They don't have to do this when accessing through an Office product.

We redirect the Desktop and My Documents.
