A quick warning on safely using VMXNET3 on OS X and using the HTML 5 host client in vSphere 6.

This is just a heads up for anyone who is using the VMXNET3 driver that Apple started bundled on virtualized ESXi.  If you go through the little dance to max vCenter let you add a VMXNET3 NIC you can never make changes to the settings for the VM afterwards using the HTML5 host client.  If you do, and make even completely unrelated changes (say, increasing VRAM), it will mangle the configuration for the VM, and the VM will no longer be bootable.  Changes made through vCenter are still safe.

The VMXNET3 driver that Apple is bundling also does not support MTU's other than 1500, FYI.
